Elements with opacity are not rendered correctly in some situations

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_3) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/55.0.2883.95 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Click the "Update Opacity" button
2. Click the "Update Background Color" button

What is the expected behavior?
1. The red square should be semi-transparent
2. The square should become 50% green

What went wrong?
1. Nothing changes (The square is still red)
2. The square becomes visually 100% red + 50% green

Did this work before? N/A 

Does this work in other browsers? Yes

Chrome version: 55.0.2883.95  Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.12.3
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0

I guess elements are not rerendered correctly in some situations.

I was wrong about the color in step 2.

I picked the color and it is #7f4000 which seems to be 50% red and 25% green.

Unable to reproduce the issue on Mac 10.12.2 , Windows 7 & Linux Ubuntu 14.04 with chrome stable version#56.0.2924.87, latest Canary#58.0.3003.0 & reported version# 55.0.2883.95 as per the below steps:

1.Downloaded above .html file & opened in chrome  --> On load , observed Red square box
2.Clicked on the "Update Opacity" button and observed red square became semi transperent red box (light red color)
3. Clicked on the "Update Background Color" button and observed square box became light green.

Please find the attached screencast for reference & let us know if we miss any steps to reproduce the issue.If possible , please provide us a screencast of the expected behaviour to triage the issue further.

Able to reproduce the issue on Mac 10.12.3 using chrome stable#56.0.2924.87 & Canary versions#58.0.3005.2.
Providing the below bisect info using old python script:
Good-42.0.2296.0- Revision-314783
Bad—42.0.2299.0—Revision-315241

You are probably looking for a change made after 314981 (known good), but no later than 314983 (first known bad).
NOTE: There is a Blink roll in the range, you might also want to do a Blink bisect.

Eagerly invalidate when a layer becomes stacking context

When an object begin or cease to be a stacking context, the paint
invalidation container of the object and/or descendants may change.
We need to invalidate paint eagerly for all such children.
PaintLayerCompositor::paintInvalidationOnCompositingChange() doesn't
work for the case because it can only see the new
paintInvalidationContainer.

Previously we handled the case of ceasing to be stacking context only.
