Network tab > Response tab: data displayed can't be trusted

Reported by jimmy.th...@gmail.com, Feb 3 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_11_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/55.0.2883.95 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Create an AJAX request to a resource returning the Euro sign as HEX entity: €
2. Inspect the response in Developer Tools > Network > Response

What is the expected behavior?
I would expect to see the value I returned from the server:
€

What went wrong?
The Response tab seems to interpret the entity and displays the Euro sign: €.

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 55.0.2883.95 Channel: n/a
OS Version: OS X 10.11.6
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0

I think it's quite serious when we can't trust the developer tools to reveal the truth about data and state.

I'm no longer able to reproduce the problem.
I might have had technical problems yesterday.
Please disregard this bug report - sorry.
