Chrome performance slow after upgrading to Version 50.0.2661.102 (64-bit)

Issue description

Chrome Version       : 50.0.2661.102
OS Version: 4.2.0-36-generic GNU/Linux
URLs (if applicable) :
Other browsers tested:
  Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
     Safari 5:
  Firefox 4.x:
     IE 7/8/9:

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Startup chrome
2. Visit most any site, especially gmail, hangouts, amazon
3.

What is the expected result?
Fast rendering


What happens instead of that?
Slow rendering of the example sites, CPU > 100% as reported via top


Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

Unable to reproduce the issue on Linux Ubuntu-14.04, Windows-7 and Mac-10.12.2 using Chrome stable version 56.0.2924.87 and canary 58.0.3004.3 with the steps mentioned above.

Reporter@ could you please upgrade the chrome to latest version and please let us know your observations if the issue still persists.
