Could you please share your version info from chrome://version? I can't reproduce this on 58.0.3007.0 (Official Build) dev (64-bit)

I don't have the computer here, but it is a recent, up-to-date chromebook
Acer R11 (possibly on the beta channel).

I had switched to the experimental Material Design settings page, and found
that typing anything in the search bar did not do a search.  I think I was
searching for "Cookies" or something like that.  Had to return to the
non-material-design settings page to find the setting I was needing.

material design settings is still under active development.  please only try it on very recent versions of Chrome/ChromeOS.  those are harder to come by on ChromeOS unless you're willing to mess with your channels (or work at Google or do your own builds).

for what it's worth: this works for me on Mac canary and stevenjb@ on a recent ChromeOS build.  if you can get us a specific version ## of where this is troubling you on ChromeOS AND it's very recent, that would be helpful.  until then, we can't do much with something we can't reproduce.  sorry and thanks for contributing to chromium!
