document.body.clientHeight behaves differently in Beta from current live

Reported by m...@macguffinandshemp.com, Feb 2 2017

Issue description

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. http://81.137.227.159/chrome/clientHeight/
2. swipe up and remove address bars

What is the expected behavior?
In the current Android Chrome if you change the size of the browser by removing the address bars document.body.clientHeight also changes to reflect this.

What went wrong?
On the current beta the document.body.clientHeight never changes even when you have increased the size of the browser window. It always reports the size with the address bars visible, even when they are not.

Did this work before? N/A

Does this work in other browsers? N/A

Chrome version: 56.0.2924.78 Channel: beta
OS Version: any
Flash Version: n/a

Chrome desktop does change document.body.clientHeight when resizing the browser.

Can you tell me if the behaviour of the beta is a bug, or have you changed it on purpose?

I see that you have released Chrome version: 56 today.
Just to confirm document.body.clientHeight reacts to hiding the address bar in Android Chrome 55 and below.

In Android Chrome 56 and above document.body.clientHeight is always fixed to the initial reading.

This is an intentional change made for issue 428132 and is working as intended. There's details in that bug and a more web dev facing documentation here: https://developers.google.com/web/updates/2016/12/url-bar-resizing
thank you for the clarification
