Should not convert non-printable character into funny triangle.

Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2924.76 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Visit http://jsfiddle.net/o2gxgz9r/2169/ 2. See the unit separator String.fromCharCode(31) now displays as a triangle 3. What is the expected behavior? Should not display anything for String.fromCharCode(31) What went wrong? Displaying a triangle Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 56.0.2924.76 Channel: beta OS Version: 6.3 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0 No problem for version 55. Now broken for version 56.

Able to reproduce the issue on windows 7, Linux Ubuntu 14.04 using chrome version 56.0.2924.87 and canary. This is regression issue broken in M56. Please do not assign bugs directly to people, instead please leave them Untriaged once a component has been determined. That way they'll be picked up *a lot* faster. As Josh indicated above this was an intentional change and similar changes will be made in the other major browsers over the next few months. |
