Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2924.76 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Open https://jsfiddle.net/Arfy/am8pbq6y/ 2. Run 3. Try to select some text and move down What is the expected behavior? Be smooth and don't freeze What went wrong? Tab freezed Crashed report ID: How much crashed? Just one tab Is it a problem with a plugin? N/A Did this work before? Yes Chrome version: 56.0.2924.76 Channel: stable OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2) Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0 No problem with IE or Firefox. No problem in my Windows 10 with same Chrome version. If I set the contenteditable to false, no problem in Chrome

Able to reproduce the issue on windows 7, Ubuntu 14.04 and Mac 10.12.3 using chrome version 56.0.2924.76 and canary 59.0.3034.0. This is regression issue broken in M56.Please find the bisect information as below Narrow bisect:: Good:: 56.0.2924.86 -- (build revision 433059) Bad:: 56.0.2924.87 -- (build revision 433059) Not able to provide the tool bisect as the good and bad builds are from branched builds. There is no issue in 58.0.3024.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit) on Win10. Let's see whether M57 fixes this or not.

#6: The repro of this issue seems very tricky. For what I've tested: Linux M56: can't repro Linux M59: it freezes even during page load Mac M56/M57: can repro -- it freezes after focusing the editable and then scrolling up and down for a few times Mac Canary M59: it freezes immediately when trying to focus the editable
