Issue descriptionSteps to reproduce the problem: 1. 2. 3. What is the expected behavior? What went wrong? Tried to save GIF into my camera roll, but when I checked my camera roll, it doesn't say "GIF" on the supposedly GIF. Tried to send the GIF I saved in message, the supposedly GIF doesn't move either. Did this work before? Yes Chrome version: <Copy from: 'about:version'> Channel: stable OS Version: 55.0.2883.79 Flash Version:

I can't repro either, tried sending out Saved images using iMessage and i see the animation when tapping on the Image. ferikunn@ Please provide the the URL of gif image you are having issues with, also iOS version you are using. Note that GIF's will not animate in Camera Roll.

I think it is a duplicate of crbug.com/690355 . I think the application used to get the saved image is not "Photos". In that case, if the application uses the image extension to determine the image type, it might think the GIF is a PNG. Photos does not relies on the image extension to get the image type so it probably not be possible to repro with it. srikanthg@ do you think you can test this behavior?

gambard@ am not clear what you are asking me to test here. I can see the downloaded gif's from Chrome are animating fine in apps like GifBook, iMessage.

srikanthg@: I think the problem was with application that would replace Photos by letting you access to all the photos/images of your device (for example GifBook is only letting you access the GIF in your device, such an application would let you access all your photos). I don't know if such an application exists. The idea would be to share a GIF to iMessage from this application instead of Photos. Please note that this bug has been fixed in the latest version of M57. You can test in M56.
