New tab creation with hotkeys has extraneous text in the tab during the transition |
|||||
Issue descriptionHello, New tab creation with a keyboard shortcut in win and linux has extraneous text in the tab before the new tab has resolved. The png is a frame by frame screenshot of the words "Loading..." and "chrome://newtab" Please remove "Loading..." and "chrome://newtab" and would it be possible to fade in "New Tab" ? Thank you!

We should fix this as part of general UI polish. If it repros when going back to the NTP, we should fix it there too. Helene, please give us more specifics for the fade in. I imagine this should be super quick so it's not still happening when the new tab becomes usable?

Yes, it would super quick in the range of 0.5 - 1 second Yes, it should be a full opacity when the new tab becomes usable.
