Open image/audio/video files which have unknown file extensions but known mime types. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionOS: Chrome OS What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Remove a file extension from PNG file. (2) Upload the file to Google Drive (3) In Files app, double click the uploaded file in Google Drive volume What is the expected result? Gallery app opens the PNG file correctly without the file extension, as Files app knows its mime type which is provided by Google Drive server. What happens instead? We can't open the file with Gallery app. It is because: - Galley app is not associate with mime type "image/png" in its manifest. - Inside Gallery code and some shared code, we assume that the image files have corresponding file extensions. Similar issues occurs for image/audio/video files with Gallery/Audio Player/Video Player.
