Yes 55 Chrome version: 56.0.2924.76 Channel: stable OS Version: 16.04 LTS Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0 Workaround: select the value with the tab key instead of the enter key. You are testing in version 58, not 56. I've just installed version 57 and the bug isn't reproducible.

Unable to reproduce this issue on Ubuntu 14.04 using chrome latest dev M58-58.0.3000.4 by following steps mentioned in the original comment. Observed the tab jumps to the next field as expected after autofill form is selected. henk-jan@ I have tried to reproduce this issue on www.gap.com, but no luck. Could you please let us know on which site you are actually facing this issue ? Thanks!

Ubuntu 16.04 and 16.10. I can't test this on Ubuntu 14.04, but for example Windows does work as expected. Chrome 56, not version 57. So probably version 58 neither. https://www.formstack.com/templates#2560208 (first fill in the form to create some autofill data) Also reproducable on www.gap.com

I reproduce on Chrome Mac 1. visit http://browsingtest.appspot.com/autofill_smoke_test.html 2. fill name password on last form 3. go back to the page 4. start typing the name 5. press down, then tab Note that you are still in login field Alternatively 5. press down, then enter, then tab Note that you are still in login field I think this may be a privacy issue, or even a security issue as people may type passwords in the login field.

It seems to be a regression in M56 as I cannot reproduce in M55

Thanks for the report. I confirm the behaviour present in 56.0.2924.87 and fixed in 57.0.2987.21 (and also in 58) on Linux. Given that it is fixed in 57+, and it is a rather minor issue, a fix for which would not be merged to 56 anyway, I don't think it makes sense to investigate it.

As a user, I think this is quite a bad bug. I already had to change all my passwords because I sent it on the login field. It nearly happened again a short time later.
