DevTools ctrl-k kill no longer working in console

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_2) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/55.0.2883.95 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1.  input text into dev console
2. insert cursor in middle of text press
3. ctrl-k

What is the expected behavior?
all text after ctrl-k should be deleted

What went wrong?
Text is not deleted after cursor. Nothing happens 

Did this work before? N/A 

Chrome version: 55.0.2883.95  Channel: n/a
OS Version: OS X 10.12.2
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0

this is standard behavior on OSX text inputs.

Status: Duplicate (was: Unconfirmed)
Able to reproduce the issue on the reported version: 55.0.2883.95 on Mac OS 10.12.2 but the same works fine on the latest stable(56.0.2924.87).

Probably was fixed in  Issue 671269 . Hence merging into that.
