For now the spaces in "Menu > Share > Read Later" are normal spaces. I can probably change them to be non-breakable spaces but I don't know if this would look great in translation. For the same reason I don't think that adding a line break before "Menu > Share > Read Later" would be a great idea (maybe in some translation this part of the phrase is in the middle of the sentence). Amy, WDYT?

+srahim Do you know if it's appropriate to add non-breaking spaces or a line break here? What would this look like with translated strings? Do we need to consider right-to-left languages too? Thanks.

my preference is to keep instructions formatted as "x < x < x" on a single line but I'm not up to speed on possible translation complications.

I think this was resolved in another thread, but the answer is that we generally avoid nonbreaking spaces in strings. There's no way to know how long a particular set of words will be in translation.

Ok, so we keep it as it is for the new background string (discussion on http://crbug.com/673700). Thanks.
