Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/55.0.2883.87 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Wait for (or trigger) a desktop popup notification 2. Hover the mouse over it 3. Wait for the notification to time out and go away What is the expected behavior? The notification should not go away with the mouse hovering over it and the user possibly about to act on it What went wrong? The notification goes away while interacting with it. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 55.0.2883.87 Channel: stable OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0 I'm pretty sure it didn't go away before while hovering over it, but I'm not 100% sure. Regardless, it shouldn't. Once no longer hovering, the hide timer to reset.

Thanks, those two links do seem to work as designed/intended regarding mouse hover. However, I re-confirmed that my mail notification popups do go away even with the mouse over it. So in this particular case, the notifications are from "Checker Plus for Gmail" which is an extension, so perhaps it's just a problem with popups from extensions? I contacted the developer Jason Savard and he stated that he had no control over the mouse hover on popups from his extension. Here's the forum post on that: https://jasonsavard.com/forum/discussion/3188/mouse-hover-on-notifications-should-pause-or-reset-the-hide-timer. Here's the extension itself: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/checker-plus-for-gmail/oeopbcgkkoapgobdbedcemjljbihmemj

As the developer of the Checker Plus for Gmail extension I confirm the issue when using the Chrome Notifications API for extensions https://developer.chrome.com/apps/notifications Essentially the API is missing a mouse hover event so the developer could respond by pausing the hiding of the notification.

Just because nobody commented doesn't mean it's not still an issue. It is! |
