@ktam do we want to support this?

Right now, reader mode is focused around non-mobile-friendly sites so there is less need to implement reader mode on tablets (which offer larger screen real estate). However, we're investigating expanding the scope of reader mode so this may become more relevant in the future. Do you happen to know the eng complexity of supporting tablet?

It shouldn't be complex at all. There used to be a whole bunch of technical restrictions but I believe those have all long since been fixed. Most of my time would be spent testing various cases rather than actually engineering anything.

Thanks - let's keep it on our list of tasks for reader mode.

@mdjones could you comment on what technical restrictions there are for reader mode on tablets? If you don't enough time, maybe we could help :D Besides, may I know when do we plan to support this?

There may not be any but I don't have time at the moment to revisit it. There is a check for tablet in the ReaderModeManager.java file; if you want to try it out, that is probably a good place to start.

We should be triggering on tablets now. |
