What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. log into Glimmer device and add Japanese IME from chrome://settings 
2. flip the device into tablet mode 
3. open a Google Document (or presentation) 
4. touch on the doc. to bring up the virtual keyboard
5. set IME to Japanese 
6. touch "kabu" and touch "enter" key to commit the input
7. touch on "Space" key  few times 

What is the expected result?
On step#7, While touching on "Space", space should be entered.

What happens instead?
On step#7, nothing happens.  


Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
Space key works fine on Omnibox/Findinpage, other input fields. 
Reproducible in Chrome 55.0.2883.105/8872.76.0 - glimmer,   56.0.2924.73/9000.72.0 - glimmer
