Link and buttons only work with a double click

Reported by original...@gmail.com, Jan 23 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/55.0.2883.95 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
currently not sure what is causing the problem.

What is the expected behavior?
single click works as usual, either opens the link or focus an input field ...

What went wrong?
Chrome all of the sudden doesn't react to any single clicks any more. No link, button, input field or what so ever can be activated or clicked by a single click. only a double click works.

restarting chrome fixes the problem.

Did this work before? Yes

Chrome version: 55.0.2883.95 Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.12.1
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0

Thanks for your report. I didn't quite understand - does this happen reliably / can you make it happen again? Or did it happen once and then go away? If it happens repeatedly, what steps are you taking to make it happen, and does it happen in a new profile?
Unfortunately I can not reproduce it.
No it happened not only once but quite some times.
Lately it did no longer appear.

As a developer I know that this feedback is not satisfying, but currently the only thing I can say for sure is that it not only happened on my machine.

Both machines are a macbook pro, running the latest OSX with the latest Chrome installed. Both machines are used to develop web apps, but when I reported this issue the bug occurred after a fresh restart of my mac. So there where no development things running.

If it is happening again I'll report a full list of running things and opened tabs and so on..

I'm going to mark this WontFix at the moment for lack of a repro case. Original reporter, if you manage to get this to happen again, please reopen this bug and we'll go from there.
