Feature request: Fork off a "Back" window |
||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version : 57 URLs (if applicable) : any Other browsers tested: Add OK or FAIL, along with the version, after other browsers where you I often have a window on a page and I need to see it at the same time as the previous page. I usually have to copy the url, then open a new window, pate it, and then go back in the original window. I have a suggestion to improve the "back" button in chrome. When you right-click the "back" button, you are given a drop-menu with a history. Allow us to treat the history window THE SAME as you treat the dropdown for the shortcuts window. On each link in the history, allow us to right-click the history link, and "Open window in a new tab". This feature would be fantastic. Then I would just right click my history, pick the previous page, and "open window in a new tab" -> DONE. I would have window (N) and (N+1) in separate tabs in my chrome browser.

I'll just reiterate to try to make it more clear. The URLs displayed by the '<-' arrow (back arrow) in the upper left pane of chrome should offer (as much as possible) the same right-click options as the urls displayed by the '>>' arrow in the upper right pane of chrome (dropdown menu used to display the rest of your bookmarks). This is a more consistent user interface, and would provide time-saving advantages: a quick way to edit history - (Delete or Cut) a quick way to copy history urls (Copy) a quick way to call back a history item in a new tab in a new tab (Open in new tab), or in a new window (Open in new window), or incognito window (Open in incognito window)

Archiving old bugs that haven't been actively assigned in over a year. If you feel this issue should still be addressed, feel free to reopen it or to file a new issue. Thanks! |
