Issue descriptionChrome Version:57.0.2984.0/9197.0.0 dev channel Daisy,Peppy,Candy OS: Chrome What steps will reproduce the problem? (1)Go to NTP and open dev tools using ctrl+shift+i (2)In elements tab, try to hover on close icon for tool-tip when scrollbar is active and Observe. Expected: No such overlapping of tool-tip and scrollbar should be seen. Actual: Instead overlapping of tool-tip and scrollbar is seen. This is regression issue as no overlapping is seen on 56.0.2924.58/9000.58.0 beta channel quawks. Attaching screenshot for reference.

It looks like you have overlay scrollbars enabled. I turned them off by default in M57 so either you have the flag explicitly on in chrome://flags or you're using an older build than mentioned in the report. Reducing urgency and labels since these aren't shipping to stable yet but I'll add this to the list of issues with MD overlay scrollbars.

David, does anything need to be fixed and merged back to m-57 with respect to this issue or can it be re-targeted to m-58?

No, the scrollbars aren't shipping in 57 anymore. I don't think we've decided on a shipping milestone yet as there's some usability concerns and we're collecting some data first.

Can't repro with the close button anymore as it looks like the UI changed? I can't get the scrollbar to appear near the tool tip for the close button. But other tooltips in devtools (e.g. "new style rule") appear to overlay the scrollbar correctly so I'm closing this. |
