Settings -> People: Cannot distinguish actual accounts. |
|||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: 55.0.2883.87 (Official Build) (64-bit) OS: Linux What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Open Settings (2) Scroll down to "People" (3) Try to tell multiple entries apart. What is the expected result? Account names are displayed. What happens instead? First name is displayed, with no indication of the account. In my case, I see "Don" 4 times, which is not useful. These are probably all different Google accounts associated with my name. I have the same problem if I click on the top-right tab to switch accounts.

@scottchen: Can you triage whether this is still an issue in the latest UI?

It's still true for me on R65.

@dgarrett: Can you post a screenshot?

I don't have as many accounts associated with this instance of Chrome, but two is enough to reproduce. These accounts do have distinctive icons, to help me deal with this issue.

For the 1st screenshot (aka user manager), you should be able to click on the upper right "dots" menu within each avatar photo and see the email of each account. See screenshot.

You can also change the profile name and icon in chrome://settings for each profile, to maybe something like Don - Personal & Don - Work.

Does that information sync?

Not sure if the profile name syncs across devices, but #6 should be sufficient, or you can simply rename the profile names once per device. Closing since there are reasonable workarounds for the issue reported here. |
