CSS Bug in Mobile Chrome on Nexus

Reported by vladma...@gmail.com, Jan 18 2017

Issue description

A website user reported seeing odd font size on their Nexus device using Chrome.

I investigated using crossbrowsertesting.com and confirmed that any element with "display: inline-block" gets rendered with a smaller font.

My config: Android Nexus 6/5.0 Chrome Mobile 53 1440x2560 Portrait

However, it also seems to be affected by the length of the paragraph and even the length of the other paragraphs on the page. For example, in the screenshot provided, when I delete the second paragraph, the first looks normal. If I add more text to the first paragraph, it again has the sizing problem.

vladmalik@ Do you see this issue on Chrome M53? Can you check if the issue exists on latest Chrome 55.0.2883.91 ?

I'm reporting what a Nexus user reported to me. However, I've used crossbrowsertesting.com to validate the issue. So, the issue exists and is easy to reproduce. (You can get crossbrowsertesting.com free trial to see it there in case you can't reproduce otherwise).

I don't have a means to test it on specific Chrome versions nor do I have a Nexus device myself. I've just done by due diligence by confirming and logging the issue using a remove service. I can't help debug it further. Thank you.

Typo "using a remote service"...
