Thanks for the feedback! The old Settings page didn't return anything for "version" either, but this seems like something worth special-casing.

Also noting that "Update" could be a good one to special-case.

9460.34.0 (Official Build) beta-channel veyron_minnie Firmware Google_Veyron_Minnie.6588.237.0 Searched for change channel, build, version Searched for change to stable/dev channel, version, build Searched for channel, version, build, about chrome os, update Result: No search results found UX First you have to know to go look under the 3 hamburger settings. The About Chrome OS under settings is not even in blue, like users are used to. Then you have to click on "detailed build information". As a long time Chrome OS user, this is absolutely not user friendly, especially when a search produces no results whatsoever.

As I mentioned in #2, searching for those things did not work on the old settings page either. We are looking into special casing these queries, as well as having the sidenav expanded by default. In the mean time, you can get to this information by: 1) Going through the sidenav (which is where version info lives in most apps) 2) Using the Chrome menu: Help > About Chrome OS 3) By going directly to chrome://help

tbuck, I get it but it's a big change all of a sudden and users are going to have trouble just like me ;) Sidenav expanded by default would help a lot.
