Evaluate in console shortcut not working

Reported by eugene.k...@gmail.com, Jan 18 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_11_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/55.0.2883.95 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Go to Dev Tools, open Sources tab.
2. Select any file from source tree (html, css, js - whatever).
3. Double click to select a word.
4. Make sure that Console panel is open (hit Esc key if it's not)
5. Press Cmd+Shift+E.

What is the expected behavior?
Selected word should be evaluated in the console.

What went wrong?
Nothing happens. The shortcut does not trigger the action.

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 55.0.2883.95 Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.11.6
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0

Action works as expected if selected from the Context Menu.

Thank you for the report. I'm inclined to merge this under the umbrella bug for requests to be able to add custom keyboard shortcuts to actions crbug.com/174309

Do we have a reason why it should be Cmd+Shift+E? Is this shortcut used in other editors? kozyatinskiy, lushnikov, wdyt?
I believe it existed before. This document mentions it: https://developers.google.com/web/tools/chrome-devtools/snippets#run_snippet

No mention in the Keyboard Shortcut Reference, though: https://developers.google.com/web/tools/chrome-devtools/shortcuts

Also, I've tried doing the same on Windows and it seems to be working but mapped to Ctrl+E (whithout Shift).

You're correct, that is the shortcut according to the docs. I'll work on fixing this.

Looks like there was another ticket and it has already been fixed on Canary and Dev channels. The change has not landed on Beta/Stable yet.
