Chrome Version : <Copy from: 'about:version'>
URLs (if applicable) :
Other browsers tested:
Add OK or FAIL, along with the version, after other browsers where you
have tested this issue:
Safari:
Firefox:
IE:
What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1)When I restart or turn off/on the computer the old version will still come up initially on start up. Then I have to close it to get rid of it and click on the updated version of Chrome. I thought that when it was updated the older version would be overwritten or something to that effect but I had to try to delete the older version and I still get it coming back on start up.

What is the expected result?
The expected result is obviously for the updated version to appear on the start up.
What happens instead?
I get the older version instead on start up.
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

This is a Microsoft *Windows 10 64-bit system* (if I am saying that right). The old Chromium version number is *Version 51.0.2683.0 *(Which, by the way, is still showing up on start up even after it ALL has been uninstalled). I have noticed that during my research on this old version that it seems to have come with a virus or some kind of malware attached which would be a good reason why it still comes up at start up but there are no more files for it in my computer because it is completely uninstalled. The new Chrome version number is *Version 55.0.2883.87 m* (64-bit). I hope that this can be resolved very soon because I am not quite sure what this old version is doing to my computer or may have already done. Thank you.

Hi. You mentioned "Chromium". Is that what you see in the Start menu or on desktop shortcuts?

Hi. Generally when we see reports of "Chromium launches when I sign in" or "I cannot uninstall Chromium", it is the result of some unwanted software that has force-installed Chromium on users' machines. If removing it via the "Programs and Features" control panel does not work, you could try finding and deleting the files (possibly in C:\Users\YOU\AppData\Local\Chromium\Application). You could also try running the Chrome Cleanup Tool (https://www.google.com/chrome/cleanup-tool/) to see if it finds any software that it suggests be removed. I am marking this issue as a duplicate of a related issue. Feel free to re-open if you are having a problem with Google Chrome (rather than Chromium). Thanks.

Hi and thanks for all of the advice but I finally solved the problem. I downloaded the LionSea SmartPCFixer v5.2 - Went to ":System Optimize" - "Startup" - Clicked on "Startup Optimize" - Found the old Chromium file, highlighted it and removed it from the startup. I do appreciate all of your input and help in this matter. Thanks again!
