Unable to reproduce this issue on Windows-10 HiDPI (Dell precision 3800) touch screen device using chrome latest stable M55-55.0.2883.87 by following steps mentioned in the original comment. Observed no issues is in two finger pinch zooming the webpage of chrome.

hegyalja@ - The zoom level counter in chrome doesn't change their number while you are doing pinch zoom, it changes only when you manually click on "+" icon or "Ctrl+ +". Could you please let us know on which device are you facing this issue? Is this issue is working on other browser?

Thanks!
I'm using only my fingers (no mouse, no keyboard, no screen keyboard) to do pinch zoom on the page (or even open a new page without any content and try to zoom the empty page)
ctrl and "+/-" or ctrl and mouse wheel working correctly.
My hardware is a Lenovo ideacentre AIO 300, os: windows 10

Thanks!

This issue sounds like specific to hardware since I am unable to reproduce it on Dell precision 3800, So adding TE-Hardware-Dependency.
