shadow dom svg gradients break after page zoom

Reported by d...@danehansen.com, Jan 14 2017

Issue description

Chrome Version : 55.0.2883.95
URLs https://jsfiddle.net/8hfdywf7/5/ :
Other browsers tested:
Add OK or FAIL, along with the version, after other browsers where you
have tested this issue:
     Safari: N/A
    Firefox: N/A
         IE: N/a

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) create a custom web component utilizing an svg in its shadow dom, and also utilize a gradient fill from a def in the svg
(2) put multiple instances of custom web component on dom, with some css to alter the gradients of the different instances
(3) zoom page in
(4) hover over each instance with mouse

What is the expected result?
expect that all instances of custom web component maintain their correct gradient fills, and their own mouse events

What happens instead?
gradient properties from last web component instance override the previous instances, and only first instance receives mouse events. please view my jsfiddle link and zoom page in to replicate.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

Able to reproduce the issue on Mac 10.12.2,Win 10 and Ubuntu 14.04 using 55.0.2883.95/87 and canary 57.0.2982.0.
This is a non-regression issue since 50.0.2624.0 as prior to it the shadow/svg doms are not loading.

This is probably issue 597080 , made (more) visible by issue 454767 . Should probably verify that before duping.
