Issue descriptionChrome Version: 55.0.2883.87, 57.0.2979.0 OS: All What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Open a new tab. (2) Navigate to http://csreis.github.io/tests/window-open.html (3) Click "Open simple window" (4) Open DevTools (docked) and run "window.opener.history.back()" in the console to send the background tab back to the NTP. (5) Switch to the original tab. What is the expected result? The omnibox should be focused. What happens instead? The omnibox is not focused. This was found when reviewing the fix for issue 677716 . creis@, as you know filed this bug and understand the details of this area, can you answer whether you imagine it occurring without using devtools? I'm trying to understand whether this type of focus issue is something someone can run into in ordinary use.
