Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/55.0.2883.87 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Open the attached file. The red div is in front of the video element (light gray area). 2. Move cursor over the video. This triggers a CSS rule to scale the container div. The red div partially disappears behind the video element. 3. Move the cursor over the part of the red div that has disappeared. The red div turns green. What is the expected behavior? On hover the red div should remain on top of the video element. What went wrong? When a video element is inside a container element with overflow:hidden, and the container is scaled, some other absolute positioned elements on top of the video inside the same container (partially) disappear visually. The elements still receive mouse events. Did this work before? Yes Chrome 31 on Windows 7 (BrowserStack) Does this work in other browsers? Yes Chrome version: 55.0.2883.87 Channel: stable OS Version: Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0 A workaround is to add the CSS rule "-webkit-transform: translateZ(0);" on the element that disappears.

Able to reproduce this issue on Windows-10, Ubuntu 14.04 and Mac OS 10.12 using chrome latest stable M55-55.0.2883.87. This is a non-regression issue observed on chrome earlier version of M30-30.0.1549.0, Hence marking it as untriaged. Thanks!

Stacking order issues seem like maybe a paint issue? PTAL.

Some kind of layer compositing issue. Might be the fundamental compositing bug.
