Components: -Platform>Apps>FileManager Platform>Apps>MediaPlayer
Loading https://www.iandevlin.com/html5test/webvtt/html5-video-webvtt-sample.html in chrome desktop, I see the vtt track captions.

Loading that link in the browser on chrome-os dev, no captions at all.

It looks to me like chrome-os does not even support vtt, odd.
  + dalecurtis@ for comments re: vtt support on chrome-os

I believe the correct component is Platform>Apps>MediaPlayer
  + fukino@ am I right?

If the sample link (<video> tag with vtt track) does not work on Chrome browser, Blink>Media>Video looks more appropriate for me.

Platform>Apps>MediaPlayer is used for build-in standalone media player on Chrome OS.

Matter of build flags: I'm building in cros_sdk for a chell board ChromeOS device and I needed to add gn args:

  is_official_build = true
  is_chrome_branded = true

Rebuild chrome, deployed chrome to the device, and rebooted. Opened a browser and loaded the sample link and _vtt captions are shown_ (good). No problem with video with vtt in a chrome browser on ChromeOS.

I down loaded the sample files #11 to my Downloads directory in ChromeOS (chell board, chrome M67) and opened FilesApp. I could the both files in its Downloads folder, and they have the same name. I clicked on the video ...

1) the video plays, the subtitles from the vtt files are displayed over it.
2) "Video Player crashes after window opens." nope, no crash for me.

Looks likes it has been fixed, Please file new bugs if it's not working for you.
