Issue descriptionTHIS TEMPLATE IS FOR FILING BUGS ON THE ANDROID SYSTEM WEBVIEW. GENERAL WEB BUGS SHOULD BE FILED USING A DIFFERENT TEMPLATE! Device name: samsung Galaxy s7 edge Android version: 6.0.1 WebView version (from system settings -> Apps -> Android System WebView): 56.0.2924.53 Application: Application version: URLs (if applicable): Steps to reproduce: (1)print to cloud or pdf from any app (2) (3) Expected result: pdf generation Actual result: error 'could not change settings' (translation from Danish so might not be the exact English error message) is displayed and no pdf is produced. Have to force close app since it stops responding..

Can't reproduce on Nexus 6P with Android Version 6.0.1, WebView version 56.0.2924.87 (newer version than the user), maybe only on Samsung phone? Unfortunately my personal Samsung S7 edge is updated to Android 7.0, on which Android System WebView is disabled and is using chrome for this feature (it doesn't work because the fix of crbug 664400 is in m57). Do we have Samsung device to have a try? Or we might ask the user if the issue still existed.

You can install chrome beta/dev on your S7 and select it as the webview implementation in developer settings to try a newer version of webview.

It's working pretty well with chrome beta (57.0.2987.97) on my S7.

Tried on Samsung S6 with Android 6.0.1, WebView 56.0.2924.87 failed to change settings, WebView 57.0.2987.97 works, so I think fix of crbug/664400 works.

ok please do close the bug then. perhaps it was fixed by some cloud print change, or perhaps something else.
