High CPU usage when typing in the omnibox

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/55.0.2883.87 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Type in the omnibox
2. 
3. 

What is the expected behavior?
Should work fine without lag and CPU spiking

What went wrong?
Main process ("Browser") becomes unresponsive for a split second and CPU usage spikes at 25% (on a dual-core system). This only happens until the suggestion list appears. When the suggestions are loaded, CPU usage (and responsiveness) return to normal.

The issue never appeared when I switched to Canary (54+) and has existed on stable Chrome since 54.

Could be caused by history lookup in case the user profile has a very big History file with lots of entries. See [1] and issue 671759
