Do *NOT* SPeak: Wi-Fi Status connecting, connected, disconnected, offline |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionMode: force_next Version: 57.0.2951.0 Reproduction Steps: 1. Enable ChromeVOx Next 2. Connect to a mobile hotspot 3. TOggle mobile hotspot off/on Observed: disconnected, offline, connecting, connected, etc. messages are uttered by ChromeVox Next to let user know about Wi-Fi status Expected: THese Wi-Fi status messages to not be spoken, as they're distracting and noise-pollution. Note: I do understand the mobile hotspot toggling is an extreme case, but wanted a way with 100% repro. I observed this quite often while stationary connected to a solid network, where the Wi-Fi may fluctuate some, which doesn't impact Internet connectivity, but the Wi-Fi status is assertive about informing me about non-useful info.

ChromeOS Version 64.0.3261.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit) Firmware Version Google_Samus.6300.174.0 I am experiencing the same issue and find the very frequent stream of updates to be annoying to the point of blocking my ability to work. Here's what I did: # Launch ChromeVox with ctrl alt z # Connect to a somewhat unstable wifi service (my desk is a good example) # As the connectivity fluctuates, an announcement is made As a result, I have received ~1 dozen updates in a few minutes
