Google Cloud Print by Device vs Account?

Reported by staub...@fowlervilleschools.org, Jan 4 2017

Issue description

Version of Google Chrome (Wrench-> About Google Chrome): 54.0.2840.99 m
Version of MSI (if applicable):
Using group policy settings? Yes

I am the network admin for a school district and while I have had success using Google Cloud Print with users and user groups I would like to know if there is a way to use it by Device. For example, can I attach a printer to a Chromebox device and have it so that anybody who logs into the Chromebox can print from it or does it have to be attached to a user's email address (account)? I just want to avoid setting up a group and putting a bunch of students into that group who could then effectively print a bunch of documents from home or tie up the printers with a bunch of accidental or malicious print jobs. I know that I can limit the amount of pages that are printed if I invite them individually with a link but in a school environment that is also not ideal.

Lopping to folks involved.

This is possible on managed Chromeboxes. In your Admin panel you can go to: Device Management > Chrome > Device settings and find a setting called 'Cloud Print'. There you can add printers to devices on the OU that is currently selected.
