I could reproduce it on 55.0.2883.0 / 8872.73.0 on Chromebook Pixel 2. Therefore I don't think this is regression between 55.0.2883.103/8872.73.0 and now. To reliably reproduce the bug, one more step is required before the repro steps described above. ------ 0. Add a new user (existing Google account) onto the device. If you want to test using a user that already stored in the device, remove that user once and re-add it. ------ I found the bug stops to happen after several times of the attempt, but could be reset by removing the user profile once from the device. (Also reproduced on 57.0.2978.0 / 9034.0.0 on Chromebook Pixel.)

To takise@: Will you check whether this issue reproduces with a build after your patches for crbug.com/647985 applied on your local build? (Also see Comment #5 here of this bug for complete repro steps.) I am not so confident but the zip unpacker change seems to fix at least one bad state transition inside it, thus may help fix this issue. Feel free to assign this back to me when you found it's not affected.

The changes for Issue 647985 also fixed this problem, so let me close this issue.
