Chrome Crashes when attaching a (network-shared) file to Gmail |

Issue descriptionChrome Version: 55.0.2883.87 (2883.87) OS: Mac OS X 10.10.5 Description: Chrome Crashes when attaching a (network-shared) file to Gmail. Snippet from Mac crash report: Crashed Thread: 9 Chrome_FileThread Exception Type: EXC_BAD_INSTRUCTION (SIGILL) Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000001, 0x0000000000000000 Chrome Crashes ID: 10e980b0-585c-44c4-830c-d43a3a688291 What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Compose email in Gmail. (2) Click the paperclip icon to attach file. (3) Choose network shared file as attachment. Current workarounds: -Download the file locally then attach -Network-based file attachment works in Safari. What is the expected result? Network shared file should attach to email What happens instead? You could copy/paste the entire report and email shess@google.com or jsbell@google.com. The "Crashed Thread" indicates the crashing thread, it should be shown by name (just as the first thread is). The given crash-id is for not-uploaded. You can find them from a command-line like: ls ~/Library/Application\ Support/Google/Chrome/Crash\ Reports/ In the past I've had some hard-to-debug crashes WRT the open/save panels in OSX. It loads a lot of per-user customization, which can make repro hard. Like issue 172510 , which honestly kind of just ended up as "I dunno, stuff happens." Hopefully we can find something cleaner here.
