Some actions on touch screen computer can cause mouse to permanently disappear

Project Member Reported by hendr...@chromium.org, Dec 26 2016

Issue description

Chrome Version: 55.0.2883.87
OS: Windows 10

I'm on a Dell Inspiron 5559 with touch screen

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Open chrome in windowed mode
(2) make sure the mouse is over the web page area in chrome
(3) Use the touch screen to close chrome using the [x] on the tab

What is the expected result?

Shows mouse cursor when over Chrome.

What happens instead?

Reopening Chrome and placing he mouse over chrome will cause the cursor to disappear.
One must hard restart chrome (e.g. kill all processes, or chrome:restart)

Seems related to: https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=447153 (which is marked as fixed)

vmpstr, mind finding someone to take a look at this? It's really hard to show my in-laws to restart the chrome when they can't see their mouse cursor :D

Never mind, it seems to be fixed in canary.
