<dialog is silent with NVDA |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: M55 stable or M57 canary OS: Win10 Screen Reader: NVDA 2016.4 What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Using above combo > install app via play.google.com (2) Attempt to interact with <dialog> (3) What is the expected result? Title, contents, and controls in dialog to be interactable via NVDA What happens instead? <dialog> is silent Notes: For some reason, on some sites, website dialog boxes do not read out with Chrome and NVDA. The latest example I ran into this issue with is the Dominos site, but it is by far not the only one. When placing an order, at times there are dialog boxes that pop up to modify an order or to make a payment. I believe that this is similar to some dialogs that come up with some Google products as well... I will have to check though, but I believe that this issue presents itself when trying to install an Android app from the playstore when the dialog box comes up to be able to select the desired device for install.

This is not a bug. NVDA switches to Focus Mode when a dialog is shown but doesn't make an earcon, hence the confusion. You can test that this works as expected by turning off Focus Mode using NVDAKey+Space after the dialog appears. I'll contact NVAccess. |
