Touch down event produces a delay in canvas animation

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/55.0.2883.75 Safari/537.36

Example URL:

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open the attached index.html
2. Switch to device profile like Galaxy S5.
3. Click the red div element and observe the lag in canvas animation.

What is the expected behavior?
There should not be any lag in canvas animation

What went wrong?
Processing of touch down event, seems made the delay in frame rendering resulting in animation lag.

Does it occur on multiple sites: N/A

Is it a problem with a plugin? N/A 

Did this work before? No 

Does this work in other browsers? Yes

Chrome version: 55.0.2883.75  Channel: n/a
OS Version: 14.10

Unable to reproduce the issue on Windows 7, Mac 10.12.2 & Lunux Ubuntu 14.04 with Chrome stable version-55.0.2883.87 & latest Canary#57.0.2969.0 as per the steps mentioned in Comment#0.

Please find the attached screencast & let us know if we miss anything to reproduce the issue.

Thanks for your response.
Still i am able to observe the issue on chrome.
Once opened the index.html on Galazy S5 profile, you can click the red div element and keep it in hold for a second or so and then release the click.
Repeat the same, you can clearly observe the lag in canvas animation.

Seems, the video capturing speed is slower than the animation on screen caster, so the issue is not visible on the video.

Please find my chrome version below:

Google Chrome	55.0.2883.87 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Revision	ad0be09aa3ca814168d079b52825f6f80e22f0e8-refs/branch-heads/2883@{#723}
OS	Linux

Status: WontFix (was: Unconfirmed)
There is no problem here, it's due to the fact that you are not telling chrome it's a passive event which causes javascript to halt everything while it's processing the event. You can get past this by using passive handler.
