||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version : 56.0.2924.28 OS Version: 9000.29.0 Other browsers tested: N/A What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Remap search key to Control (or never have one on an external keyboard) 2. Press either ctrl+shift+l (old shortcut) or search+l What is the expected result? The computer locks What happens instead of that? For ctrl+shift+l, a notification pops up that the screen lock shortcut has changed. For search+l, ctrl+l gets sent (selects address bar). Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible. Mapping the search key to the control (a vital security related key) will cause this issue. Please remap it to some other key and this should work.

Yes, the screen lock shortcut works if I map another key to search. But I have no other use for the search key than locking the screen, so it's pointless to lose another key. I regularly use all of ctrl, alt, esc, and backspace, so remapping any of those keys to search is not a workable solution. It seems that Mod4 gets mapped to Search now, so that is a usable key on my keyboard, but not all keyboards have that key available. |
