Multiple tabs crashing on Mac, no crash report, "Learn more link" and "Reload" button not working |
|||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: 55.0.2883.75 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.11.6 URL (if applicable) where crash occurred: N/A Can you reproduce this crash? No What steps will reproduce this crash? (If it's not reproducible, what were you doing just before the crash?) 1. I had a number of tabs open (<20) in two browser windows 2. These tabs had been open for a couple of days 3. One of my tabs crashes. I tried to open the "Learn more link" but it would navigate to another sad tab and the "Reload" button would not change to "Send Feedback" no matter how many reloads I tried 4. Any attempts to open a new tab or refresh an existing one resulted in another sad tab 5. I tried to quit Chrome but it hung 6. I rebooted my computer and everything after that worked as intended 7. Crash is not showing up in chrome://crashes/

Is there an OS crash report? Check ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports for files named "Google Chrome Helper_*".

Checked. No OS crash reports from "Google Chrome Helper"

Well, then I hate to say this, but they’re not really crashes. IPC is shutting down for some reason. It’s possible that the renderers are exiting on their own without crashing. This will unfortunately be difficult to debug. Is it reproducible?

I haven't been able to reproduce it. It only happened the one time so feel free to mark it as won't fix.

Thanks for reporting anyway, Yana. Sorry there wasn’t anything actionable here. Let me know if it happens again.
