Aw, Snap! Error with Nightscout CGM-Remote Monitor on Chromium on RPI3 with Kernel 4.8

Issue description

Chrome Version       : Chromium 51.0.2704.91 Built on Ubuntu 14.04, running on Raspbian 8.0
URLs (if applicable) : Nightscout site, https://github.com/nightscout/cgm-remote-monitor
Other browsers tested: Chrome Windows OK, Chrome RPI Linux 4.4 ok

What steps will reproduce the problem?
a) See https://github.com/nightscout/cgm-remote-monitor/issues/2352
b) Open webbrowser with Nightscout site on Chromium with Linux 4.8 kernel

What is the expected result?
a) Nightscout will be shown without Chromium erorrs

What happens instead?
b) Chromium display Site Title, intially builds up the screen, but fails with error: "Aw, Snap! Something went wrong while displaying this web page"

Probably has to do with Chromium/Linux kernel.

$ chromium-browser --version
Chromium 51.0.2704.91 Built on Ubuntu 14.04, running on Raspbian 8.0

OK WITH Linux pi3 4.4.34-v7+ #930 SMP Wed Nov 23 15:20:41 GMT 2016 armv7l GNU/Linux
OK WITH Linux pi3 4.4.38-v7+ #938 SMP Thu Dec 15 15:22:21 GMT 2016 armv7l GNU/Linux
FAILS WITH Linux pi3 4.8.13-v7+ #937 SMP Fri Dec 9 17:45:13 GMT 2016 armv7l GNU/Linux
