Marking Chrome as default browser opens up dialog in background on MacOS 10.12.2 |
|||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: 55.0.2883.95 OS: macOS 10.12.2 What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) From new installation of MacOS, install Chrome (2) Mark "Set Chrome as default browser" in onboarding (3) *see no dialog, but realize chrome is not default browser (4) Go to Settings (5) Press "Make Google Chrome the default browser" What is the expected result? I see the dialog asking to confirm the change to change defaults. What happens instead? Nothing visible appears (see video). However, if I move the screen, it turns it out it opened in the background. Note: I was unable to reproduce this problem on my other Mac laptop (which is running macOS 10.12.1)

I don't think there's anything we can do, actually. This looks like a bug in macOS that Apple will need to fix to restore the previous behavior.

Safari is also doing the same issue.

We should file a radar. Can someone do that?
