Reported by pschae...@igus.net, Dec 15 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/54.0.2840.99 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Install LBS Extension + 64-bit MSI Native Host
2. Configure Policy Settings with example Hosts in "Open in alternate browser"
3. Open one of the configured sites

What is the expected behavior?
Open the sites in IE 11

What went wrong?
Still open in Chrome.
IE sites directly opens in Chrome.

Did this work before? No

Chrome version: 55.0.2883.87 Channel: stable
OS Version: 8.1
Flash Version: Adobe Flash Player Version 24.0.0.186

- There is no cache.dat in my %Localappdata%\Local\Google\BrowserSwitcher
- Error in log: Config file could not be loaded!
- No LBS in chrome://plugins, only in chrome://extensions
- Policy shown in chrome://policy
- In chrome://extensions i click on developer mode and background site and i got the following errors:
    - Lost connection to the native host: Access to the native messaging host was disabled by the system administrator
    - Native port not reachable
- The .json-file is installed with correct settings and the registry is also correct

Do you know which security settings invokes this?

There are three policies that can interfere with native messaging hosts:

NativeMessagingBlacklist - The set of hosts that are forbidden.
NativeMessagingWhitelist - The set of exceptions to the NativeMessagingBlacklist
NativeMessagingUserLevelHosts - whether user-level (in contrast to system-wide) installed hosts are allowed.

Please check if any of those three are set in your case and make sure they allow the right identifier for the LBS native host.

Thank you for this information. I totally forgot these policies. Now it is working.
Can be marked as solved.
