Chrome dying in Jelly Bean

From "Settings > About Chrome"
Application version:Chrome Beta 12 Dec2016
Operating system: CM10

Steps to reproduce: 
(1) open app
(2)
(3)

Expected result: browser comes up, stays up


Actual result: browser comes up for a few seconds, then disappears

Same issue with current Chrome & Canary

ARM7, Tegra2, kernel 2.6.39- balthazarv2.80, Android 4.1.2
