Closing tab after pressing enter during find results in macOS (sound) alert

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_2) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/55.0.2883.95 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Press ⌘-T to open a new tab
2. Go to https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=chrome
3. Press ⌘-F and type
Chrome<Enter>
4. Press ⌘-W

What is the expected behavior?
After step 3. the second match of the word "Chrome" should become highlighted. After step 4. the tab should be closed.

What went wrong?
After step 3. the second match of the word "Chrome" is highlighted. After step 4. the tab closes but the computer speaker makes an alert beep (the same sounds as pressing Ctrl-G in a terminal window).

Did this work before? Yes Unknown

Chrome version: 55.0.2883.95  Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.12.2
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0

The beep does not occur if Enter is not pressed within the find box.

After a more intense search it seems this has already been reported on Windows - see  issue #663038  ...
