Issue descriptionChrome Version : 54.0.2840.99 m URLs (if applicable) : http://codepen.io/waterplea/pen/zombor Other browsers tested: Add OK or FAIL, along with the version, after other browsers where you have tested this issue: Safari: - Firefox: FAIL (bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1322352) IE: OK What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Create a span with relative positioning and add ::before pseudo-element to it with absolute positioning (2) Make sure it is the first character to wrap on the next line What is the expected result? It is wrapped correctly as if there was no absolutely positioned pseudo-element since absolutely positioned elements do no affect static layout What happens instead? It drags one last character with it on the next line. Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible.

Thanks for the report. Able to reproduce the issue on Win 7, Mac OS X 10.11.6, Ubuntu 14.04 using Chrome Canary # 57.0.2952.0 & stable version#55.0.2883.87. This is non-regression issue which is existing from M30 builds, #40.0.2172.0 till latest stable & Canary. Observed 2 characters wrapped to the next line instead of one. Please find the attached screenshot of M30 version for reference.
