Regression:Delay is seen to change the selected search engine under 'manage search engines' section.

Chrome Version: 56.0.2924.28 (Official Build)Revision 5079bb60c246eb7de76df56f3335ef542f87c4c3-refs/branch-heads/2924@{#481} (32/64-bit)
OS:Windows (7,8,10),Mac (10.11.6,10.12.1), Linux (14.04 LTS)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1)Launch chrome and navigate to chrome://md-settings/
(2)Change the search engine to 'yahoo' under search section and click on 'manage search' engines.
(3)Again change it to 'google',click on 'manage search engines' and observe.

Actual: Delay is seen to change the selected search engine under 'manage search engines' section.

Expected: No such delay should be seen and selected search engine should appear in bold under manage search engines' section.

This is a regression issue broken in 'M56' and below is the manual regression range
Good Build: 56.0.2902.0

Still able to reproduce the issue on windows 10 using chrome version 57.0.2976.5
