Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_11_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/55.0.2883.87 Safari/537.36 Example URL: https://play.google.com/music/listen Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Connect MacBook Pro 13" retina, early 2015 to a Dell U2715H display. Connect speakers via audio output of U2715H. Ensure "Dell U2715H" is selected as audio output in Mac OS X. 2. Open Google Play Music in Chrome. 3. Observe beachball and all tabs and windows of Chrome unresponsive What is the expected behavior? Audio playing via speakers connected to monitor What went wrong? While Chrome is beachballing, I took a process sample via Activity Monitor.app and the main thread seems to be stuck around AudioObjectGetPropertyData. I attached the process sample below. When I force quit Chrome and change the audio output to "Internal Speakers" and start Chrome again, Chrome starts fine and Google Play Music works fine. I'm pretty sure that switching to the monitor audio output while its working broke things last time, but I want to submit this bug before I try it again so I don't lose my progress. Did this work before? Yes Chrome 53? Is it a problem with Flash or HTML5? HTML5 Does this work in other browsers? :-( of course everything works great after a restart. I could have sworn I ran into this yesterday after a restart. This bug can be closed for now.

Based on Comment#2 I am marking the bug as Wontfix.

Usually we see this when there's some OS level issue. Next time you see, try to see if audio plays from any other app.

Also, grab a sysdiagnose trace so we can report to Apple: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=160920#c124 |
