Slow, unresponsive when searching in source

Project Member Reported by sgreco@google.com, Dec 13 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/55.0.2883.75 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open Developer Tools
2. ctrl-shift-F to search for a class or method
3. Observe

What is the expected behavior?
The line I'm looking for is found relatively quickly.

What went wrong?
Chrome becomes amazingly slow (to the point where its somewhat unusable) and the tab devtools is attached to completely freezes up.

Note: this doesn't happen every time, but it does happen frequently enough to become bothersome.

Did this work before? N/A
