google play music using audio output device when no music playing. |
||||
Issue descriptionI've attached a trace, a screenshot of the webpage, and the output from chrome://media-internals. Not sure if this is a google play bug or a Chrome bug. The AudioOutputDevice thread in process 38093 is processing work [probably a no-op] every 5ms. I haven't killed this browser session yet, so please let me know if there's other debugging you need from me.

Yeah it looks like they've started using WebAudio; which is unfortunate for a music player in terms of power consumption. At least it should suspend the context if nothing is playing. stromme@ should we route this to a buganizer? rtoy@ did support land yet for setting larger buffer sizes?

No, the larger buffer sizes hasn't landed yet. It's in progress, but I'm still waiting for 3 lghtms for the intent (minor tweak needed in the spec).

This issue can be closed since Google Play Music Web Player does not use WebAudio anymore. https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=376317#c19 |
